Freddie awards – travel loyalty awards

I’m pretty sure after you read the title of this post, you’re wondering a travel award that’s named Freddie??! When I first heard of this award, the name reminded me of Freddie Kruger – as in the guy from Nightmare of Elm Street! Ok, maybe you’re probably not thinking the same Freddie, but…ok, let’s get back to this travel award.

The Freddie Awards is the most prestigious travel loyalty awards in the industry and is named in honor of Sir Freddie Laker, who founded Britan’s first all-jet air carrier, Laker Airways in 1966. I’m not going to bore you about the awards, you can find more information here.

What I’m excited to share is that iPrefer, Preferred Hotel Group‘s guest loyalty program has been nominated in all of the hotel category for the first time. iPrefer is the first global independent hotel group to offer points AND benefits to its members.

You may be thinking, “what’s so special about this hotel loyalty programs, I’m a member of  Marriott Rewards, Hyatt Gold Passport already”. What’s unique about iPrefer is that the hotel’s portfolio are ALL independent hotels – no one hotel is alike. Not only that, points can not only be earned at room stays, but at some hotels, points can also be earned at other parts of the hotel, such as restaurants, or spas. Redemption is not only for rooms, but it’s redeemable for ‘Reward Certificates’ which act like cash and can be used at the hotel to settle your hotel stay, or at some hotels, for lunch at an iPrefer hotel at over 450 properties globally! Check out the nominations and also vote the Freddie’s, as the insiders call it, and while you’re at it, sign up for iPrefer here and plan your next trip!
